why "parchment" ?
We love our name, parchment, for its complexity. With one word we celebrate our ancestors and scientific progress. Invented by the ancient Egyptians, parchment was a writing tool. Over time and with technological advancements we transitioned to paper to record stories we could then pass down through the ages. The modern invention of parchment paper, or baking paper, inspired a contemporary wave of creativity in the kitchen. It is this two-fold dimension of the word that speaks to us. With our name we thank our grandmothers for passing down their stories and recipes, and we acknowledge science for keeping us excited and making baking easier.
